Account Manager, Public Affairs

Location: Hybrid work environment, located in Oregon

Quinn Thomas, one of the fastest growing marketing communications and public affairs agencies in the Northwest, is hiring an Account Manager of Public Affairs to join our all-star team. We are seeking a highly motivated communications professional with a desire to throw out the playbook and think differently.

This role will lead public affairs programs for well-known corporate brands, business associations, and industry coalitions in energy, healthcare and recreation sports throughout Oregon and Washington. This role will be responsible for leading and motivating account teams across the agency to work at the intersection of public policy and communications to bring to life creative solutions, measurable results and business outcomes for our clients. Quinn Thomas offers employees the option to work remote or from our office in Portland.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead a diverse portfolio of public affairs accounts including serving as the NW public affairs lead for a national telecommunications company, two global energy companies and trade associations representing the boating and ski industries in Oregon.  
  • Design communications plans, account strategies and public affairs plans for existing and new clients.
  • Serve as day-to-day account lead, building relationships and trust with clients across accounts.
  • Lead and motivate account teams to deliver on client goals and outcomes; manage and mentor junior staff.
  • Develop relationships with media and community stakeholders that align with client needs.
  • Ensure account deliverables are aligned to account strategy and serve the clients’ needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-8 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs or public policy.
  • Experience working in an agency or consulting environment is preferred.
  • Excellent and diverse writing abilities for multiple voices and audiences.
  • Experience building and managing social media campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic communications plans and a general understanding of the legislative process.
  • High attention to detail, including an understanding of creative development, print production, materials delivery and budget management.
  • An ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • An understanding of today’s news environments and media trends, including the influences of social media tools.

BENEFITS

  • Salary range: $90,000 – $100,000.
  • Hybrid workplace with option to work remotely and collaborate in person by utilizing office space in Portland.

Visual Designer

Location: Hybrid work environment, located in the Pacific Northwest

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative professional with a desire to throw out the play books and think differently.

This person will play an integral role in leading our creative projects for a diverse portfolio of clients that include well-known corporate brands, business associations and local clients throughout the West United States. The ideal candidate will have some agency experience developing creative campaign concepts and high-level designs focused on consumer insights, industry data and client goals. Quinn Thomas offers employees the option to work remote or from one of our offices in Portland or Seattle.

  • Work with Copywriter and Creative Director to ideate and create campaign ideas.
  • Lead all design projects with an eye for typography, storytelling and design best practices. These include concept designs, rebrand components such as logos and design systems, video storyboards, website wireframes and visual assets, digital banners (static and animated), social, infographics and fact sheets, PowerPoint and Canva decks for internal and external purposes.
  • Assist in internal marketing initiatives such as case studies, social posts and website updates.
  • Stay current and provide insights on industry trends, technology and DEI initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the creative team to ensure projects are on time and on budget.
  • Help creative team launch and execute our new brand.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
  • Have some agency work experience.
  • Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research and how to utilize it in creative campaign development and executions.
  • Proficiency and understanding of design fundamentals and best practices.
  • Ability to meet Creative Director’s expectations and deadlines while maintaining careful attention to detail and quality.
  • Has experience in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and PowerPoint. Programs such as Sketch, Adobe XD, After Effects, WordPress and Canva are a nice to have but not required.

Freelance/Project-Based Senior Marketing Copywriter

The ideal candidate will have some agency experience leading creative campaign concepts and writing engaging marketing copy based on consumer insights, industry data and client goals.   • Strong editorial, proofreading and writing skills across industries.
  • Experience with SEO copywriting best practices.
  • Experience with social media and content marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

COMPENSATION

  • Hourly rate: $100/hr.
  • Estimated hours: 5-15 per week on a contracted project basis.
